Aqérat (We, the Dead) is a 2017 film by Edmund Yeo. It tells the story of a young woman who becomes a human trafficker to make ends meet, witnessing firsthand the atrocities perpetrated against the Rohingya immigrants.The film premiered in Tokyo International Film Festival 2017, winning the Best Director Award and Tokyo Gemstone Award.
